Oxfam Australia is an Australian, independent, not-for-profit, secular, community-based aid and development organisation.

Our vision

Our vision is of a fair world in which people control their own lives, their basic rights are achieved and the environment is sustained.

What we do

Across 28 countries, we work in partnership with local communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

 

Our history

Since 1995, Community Aid Abroad has been part of the Oxfam International family - an affiliation of 13 Oxfams around the world. In 2005, the name of the agency changed to Oxfam Australia.

State offices

Oxfam Australia's national office is based in Melbourne. We also have offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney. We are represented by State Committees in the ACT and Tasmania.

Codes of Conduct

Oxfam Australia is an accredited signatory to the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct for Non Government Development Organisations (NGDOs). This Code of Conduct defines standards of governance, management, financial control and reporting with which NGDOs should comply, and identifies mechanisms to ensure accountability in NGDOs use of public monies.
