Get involved in shaping Oxfam Australia's future by becoming an Ordinary Member.
Benefits
As an ordinary member you can:
- Provide input and feedback on national policies
- Give active support for major Oxfam Australia activities and campaigns
- Create closer working relationships between the Oxfam Australia community and the board
- Contribute to redrafting your state's constitution
- Vote in the national Oxfam Australia Board elections
- Elect members of your state committee
Members are also eligible to stand for positions on the Oxfam Australia Board and the relevant state committee.
Commitment
As a member, you will be invited to Oxfam Australia's national conference. At this meeting you will be able to learn about the activities of Oxfam Australia at local, national and international level.
You will also be invited to the annual general meeting of your state committee each year. At this meeting you can:
- Learn about Oxfam Australia activities at the local level
- Nominate to stand for the state committee
- Elect members of the state committee for the coming year
- Discuss ways you can become more involved
Each state committee meets monthly to coordinate Oxfam Australia's activities in their area.
Eligibility
Membership is open to supporters who:
- Have donated $100 or more in the past 12 months ($50 for unwaged people and students)
- Have donated more than 10 hours of voluntary service in the past 12 months
- Are a member of an Oxfam Australia local group
Membership is for a two-year period from July 2007 to June 2009.

If your application is successful, you will be sent a letter confirming your membership. Applications can take up to six weeks to process.
