Photo: OxfamAUS The NSW State Committee is actively involved in supporting Oxfam Australia, the Sydney office and members across NSW. We are a growing group involved in governance, policy development, fundraising and volunteer activities for Oxfam Australia. We are donors or volunteers who want to contribute more to supporting the agency.
Come to our monthly meetings and:
- Learn about the big issues from our guest speakers
- Contribute ideas for new ways to help Oxfam Australia
- Discuss policy issues and contribute comments to the board
We meet once a month at Oxfam Australia’s Sydney office, 25 Cooper Street, Surry Hills.

Become a member
Membership is open to Oxfam Australia donors and volunteers. As a member you can become involved in the running of our organisation and in shaping its future. Membership entitles you to vote or nominate for the board as well as your local state committee.

Our people
NSW State Committee members are elected at the AGM every November. The State Committee for 2008-2009 is Anne Conway, Michelle Gardiner, Geoff Graham, Gus Johnson, Philip Kelly, Jan Macindoe, Ali Mackay, David Roffey, Diane Sackelariou and Andy Strunk.
We are delighted that many NSW State Committee members go on to a wide range of experiences, including being a board member for Oxfam Australia, an Australian Youth Ambassador in Bangladesh, a Churchill Fellowship and a posting to the Solomons.
Activities
The NSW State Committee actively supports Oxfam's Sydney office and NSW members. We support: walk against want, Fairtrade Fortnight, Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney, Oxfam International Youth Parliament’s fundraising dinner 'Taste' and the Make Poverty History and Make Trade Fair campaigns.
Committee members have also spoken on behalf of Oxfam Australia at events, schools, churches and public talks.
