Share your skills
SkillShare, supported by Oxfam Australia
SkillShare is part of Oxfam Australia's domestic program. The scheme is an opportunity for skilled, professional volunteers to complete capacity building defined projects with non-government organisations and community groups in Victoria, and to play an active part in achieving social justice in Australia.
Increasingly Oxfam Australia is conscious of the general community's strong interest in finding meaningful involvement in the broader social issues that confront us, such as the environment, racism and poverty. SkillShare enables our professional supporters to be more directly involved and connected with our work.

Our value for not-for-profits
Our primary objective is to assist not-for-profits by sharing needed professional skills, organised around specific projects initiated, planned and supported by them. All SkillShare projects have a defined scope and defined timeline for completion, with each having the key to work with the not-for-profit to build their long term capacity.
SkillShare is managed by a team of Oxfam Australia volunteers. Their role is to respond to the requests of not-for-profits, match them with appropriate, interviewed and inducted volunteers and provide structure and ongoing support to each project, through dedicated and experienced project monitors.
The management team recruits volunteers, runs an induction program, allocates volunteers to organisations, and manages the volunteers, ensuring quality control, accountability and consistency with Oxfam Australia's principles.
SkillShare Volunteers are currently working on projects in areas such as refugee support, the environment, community housing and community counselling.
