Create your canvas
Oxfam Australia invites you to create an artwork that tells the climate change story for vulnerable communities in developing countries. The canvas could represent the climate change impacts faced by these communities, tell the story of them adapting to climate change or look at opportunities and possibilities for the future. People all over the world are taking part in this international project.
Closing soon
The closing date for Canvas for change is fast approaching so make sure to get your artworks in soon. Entries close November 17 2008
Entries for the post secondary students competition closed on October 20. Post secondary students are encouraged to apply in the community member category.

Why should I participate?
It’ll be fun and it’s your chance to be part of a global project to stop climate change. It’s a great way to learn more about climate change and help educate the community. Submitted works will be exhibited in an Oxfam Australia web gallery. There will be an online competition to choose canvases to be used on postcards and posters.
For post-secondary students one of their canvases will be chosen to represent Australia as part of an exhibition at the international gathering of countries on climate change.
What happens to the canvases?
In December 2008, the nations of the world will gather in Poland to negotiate a solution to climate change and a selection of canvases will be exhibited at this UN Summit.
Others will be exhibited around the world and across Australia over the next year, as well as on our online gallery; others will be made into postcards, posters or used in other campaign materials.
The deadline for Oxfam to receive your canvas is November 17 2008.
Who can participate?
Everyone can create a canvas. We welcome submissions from students, community groups, clubs, artists or would-be artists. We welcome individual or group works. Get together with your friends, your community, or your school to paint a canvas that shows the impact of climate change on poor communities.
