    our approach

Oxfam Australia has worked to advance First Peoples’ rights for more than 40 years — and our work is not nearly done. We still have a long way to go towards First Peoples’ justice and equality in Australia.

The First Peoples Program is committed to working in partnership and solidarity with First Peoples communities to support their visions for the future. Across the five years of our new strategy, we will remain focused on supporting efforts that address the root causes of injustice, and on amplifying the leadership of First Peoples communities towards justice.

The program’s vision within the 2025-2030 strategy (Walking Together: Footsteps towards First Peoples Justice) is to support efforts advancing First Peoples justice across Australia.

This section of the website is a work in progress. Watch this space for more program developments soon.
