Origin Foundation
The Origin Foundation supports Oxfam Australia through its Workplace Giving, Matched donations and Volunteering Programs.
Since 2004 Origin employees have been involved with activities like Oxfam Trailwalker and Oxfam Challenge. Employees participate in Oxfam Trailwalker as walkers, support crews and checkpoint volunteers in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Volunteering is encouraged by Origin – a highlight in 2010 being the Oxfam Trading Warehouse volunteering opportunity. Thirty-five Origin employees volunteered in Adelaide and contributed over 260 voluntary hours. Origin volunteers donated their time to Oxfam Trading Warehouse during the busy November and December period when additional support was required to pick and pack gifts ordered online through Oxfam Shop. They also promote Oxfam Unwrapped and Oxfam Fairtrade products internally. Origin employees receive paid volunteer leave and matched donations from The Origin Foundation.
Origin employees also give generously to Oxfam’s Emergency Appeals, which are matched through the Origin Foundation.
Mirella Gigliotti, Manager, Matched Giving and Volunteer Programs, says the Foundation was proud to support Oxfam, "Through our partnership with Oxfam we’re able to offer really meaningful volunteering opportunities.
