Unfortunately, we don’t collect trees after Christmas. This enables us to keep the cost of our trees low. Please contact your local council for more details on how to correctly dispose of your tree.

How much of my $69 actually gets to Oxfam Australia?

This project is an initiative of the Oxfam Group Fitzroy, and is predominantly organised and staffed by volunteers who are committed to creating a fairer world. All the trees are delivered by volunteers, most of whom are members of Melbourne 4WD Clubs. These generous volunteers donate the use of their vehicle and the fuel as well.  As a result of this generous support, approximately $47 from each tree sold is donated to Oxfam Australia. In 2010, sales of Christmas Trees raised $201,695 to support communities around the world.

Where does the money go?

Oxfam Australia works in 27 countries around the world and in indigenous Australia to overcome poverty and injustice. Your purchase of a Christmas tree will support our long term development work. Read more about our work.
