REELCHANGE premieres at the Human Rights and Arts Film Festival

Kino Cinemas

"When we're confronted with the denial of human rights... up there on the big screen, it's very hard not to feel outrage and hopefully that outrage will galvanise many of us into action."

Festival Patron - Margaret Pomeranz, ABC's At The Movies

The Human Rights and Arts Film Festival (HRAFF) is described by festival co-director Evelyn Tadros as being about people, defiant, courageous and inspiring people using film, art, music and poetry to tell their story. And this year, for the first time as part of the HRAFF, we also have REELCHANGE, a series of short films and animations with a focus on the human impact of climate change.

Films include one by young Carteret Islanders who poetically capture the views and reflections of their people as they prepare to relocate to the mainland due to sea level rise. Others include A Castle in the Sand, a satirical allegory critiquing the notion that technological solutions will always save us from the impacts of climate change.

REELCHANGE offers an opportunity to 'see the bigger picture' around the impacts of climate change Click here to view festival details in your state
