Humanitarian Program Coordinator (Pacific Region) - Melbourne

International vacancies

Violence Against Women Program Manager - Solomon Islands

Applications Close: 29 Jul 09

The Violence Against Women Program Manager has overall management responsibility for the Standing Together Against Violence program, which contributes to the reduction of acceptance in the Solomon Islands of violence against women and improves support services for those suffering abuse.

The role will facilitate the development of the program approach in accordance with learning from implementation and support networking and coordination amongst a range of stakeholders and seek to build advocacy and policy influencing skills.

Key requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of implementing gender or gender violence focused programs
  • Experience of leading/facilitating program development processes involving a range of stakeholders
  • Experience integrating cross-cutting issues in programs, with particular emphasis on gender as well as human rights, HIV & AIDS, child protection and civil society strengthening
  • Experience in capacity building of local NGOs, local organisations, national counterparts and staff

3 year full time contract.
