Kylie Kwong range hits the shops

The beautiful fair trade tableware range designed by celebrity chef Kylie Kwong exclusively for Oxfam Australia has gone on sale around Australia. To mark its release and to give Kylie fans a behind-the scenes look at how the range was developed, Oxfam has released a short video of Kylie’s visit to the workshop where her first ever range is being crafted. The video, which can be viewed on the Oxfam website, also introduces some of the people who are creating the fair trade range.  Read full release »

Fair Trade Fortnight 2011 Kicks Off!

Australia's biggest celebration of everything fair trade, Fair Trade Fortnight 2011, begins tomorrow and will give Australians the opportunity to understand more about how the fair trade system benefits those in developing countries, says Oxfam Australia. Among keynote events, Oxfam Australia and the Fairtrade Association of Australia and New Zealand have teamed up to host a Fairtrade-certified Sri Lankan tea producer, to help raise awareness of how producers in developing countries are benefiting from Fairtrade.  Read full release »

Fairtrade Easter sales skyrocket: Oxfam

More Australians are choosing ethically produced Easter eggs and bunnies this year, according to international aid agency Oxfam Australia. Oxfam’s Fairtrade Easter chocolate sales are up by 50% so far this year, compared to the pre-Easter period last year.  Read full release »

More Australians buying fair trade Christmas presents: Oxfam

From December 1-12, Oxfam sold 18,500 more fair trade products (up 17.4%) and served 8.6% more customers through its 23 shops around Australia compared to the same period last year. This pattern is echoed through the rest of the year, with Australians buying 8.8% more fair trade products through Oxfam’s Shops overall in 2010 so far, compared to the same point in 2009.  Read full release »

More Australians are buying Fair Trade chocolate this Easter, according to international aid agency Oxfam Australia.
