'Weapons of mass destruction' and 'the war on terror' are familiar phrases
in our news reports these days. However, there is little if any talk
on the weapons which kill one woman, man or child in the world every
minute – conventional weapons or small arms. The trade in small
arms is out of control, fuelling poverty, conflict and human rights violations.
In this issue of Horizons we detail our part in the global Control Arms
campaign to fight the dangerously unregulated trade in small arms.
