BRENDAN ROSS
Humanitarian Advocacy Coordinator | Advocacy Unit

Brendan's interest in humanitarian issues has taken him from the highlands of South America to the deserts of Africa and jungles of Indonesia. Since 2001 he has worked with Oxfam in a number of campaigning, advocacy and humanitarian protection roles. Previously he worked as a Humanitarian Protection Manager in South Darfur, Sudan; Humanitarian Advocacy Coordinator in Indonesia; and, Mining Advocacy Officer with Oxfam Australia. He holds a Masters degree in Development Studies from the University of Melbourne, an Honours Degree in International Business from Flinders University and is completing post-graduate studies in International Law.

In 2002 he was awarded the Weary Dunlop Fellowship from the Asialink centre of Melbourne University for his research on human rights issues in Indonesia.

STEPHANIE COUSINS
Project Coordinator | Refugee Realities

Stephanie Cousins' passion for social issues is inspired by her Irish heritage and in particular her mother who never reluctant to speak out about injustice.

Her involvement in the refugee community began in 2002 when she worked with the Refugee Review Tribunal as a case preparation clerk. After many years of running film festivals and other creative projects she was able to combine her passion and skills working for the Human Rights Film Festival. She has worked for Oxfam since February 2006 in a variety of advocacy roles including indigenous advocacy and humanitarian advocacy.

She graduated from Melbourne University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Public Policy and Management and was honoured on the Deans list.
