During Refugee Week (15–21 June 2008) Oxfam Australia ran an online link-up between young Australians and young people living in Ugandan internally displaced people's camps.

The Uganda/Australia Linkup project was about connecting people living in Northern Uganda's internally displaced people's (IDP) camps with Australians. The 10 participants from Uganda live in one of seven IDP camps which have had internet connectivity and computer facilities since March 2007. This was a rare opportunity for displaced people to have a voice this Refugee Week, and for people in Australia to make a real connection to the survivors of war.
