Past walks
Madurah, 2009
On Sunday 3 May 2009 the Mandurah Group hosted yet another successful Walk Against Want. Participants gathered at Mandurah Apex Park on the western foreshore and walked “around the bridges” to help raise funds and support people living in poverty around the world. A beach picnic was held at the end of the walk to celebrate the outstanding achievements of all walkers. Congratulations to Anne Batt and the Mandurah Group for all their time and effort organising this walk.
Fremantle, 2009
2009 saw Fremantle host yet another great Walk Against Want, kicking off at Princess May Park. This year participants came with strollers, bikes and dogs and enjoyed some of the most spectacular scenery the state has to offer while raising vital funds to go towards the important work of Oxfam Australia. A huge thanks and congratulations to Maureen Flynn and the Fremantle team - we are truly dependent on the time and skills you devote to running such an event.
