Once the immediate danger has passed, we work to rebuild lives and reduce the risk of future disasters. Pakistan Crisis
Two million people are now displaced in Pakistan, as fighting between soldiers and armed groups escalates. Oxfam is providing hygiene and healthcare for shocked and exhausted families living in temporary camps.

Zimbabwe Crisis: UPDATE
With the wet season now coming to an end, the number of new cholera cases is fortunately declining. However, a poor harvest means a new crisis looms for many communities who are still hungry. In response, Oxfam has extended its food program.

Sri Lanka conflict
The end of fighting between the Government forces and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has cause another influx of people fleeing homes. Oxfam has expanded its emergency response to provide water and sanitation for over 100,000 traumatised and exhausted people caught in the conflict.

Swine Influenza
Oxfam is monitoring the situation caused by the outbreak of swine flu that has surfaced in Mexico, and is following all the recommendations issued by the authorities to prevent a larger spread.

Timor-Leste: After the violence
