Timor-Leste: After the violence
While the violence in Timor-Leste has subsided, the humanitarian crisis remains. Oxfam is providing humanitarian assistance in camps in Dili and supporting local partners in surrounding districts.
Sudan crisis
Five years on, the crisis in Sudan's Darfur region remains one of the world's largest concentrations of human suffering. We are helping more than half a million people affected by the conflict in Darfur and Chad.
Flooding in Angola
Southern Angola has been hit by a cholera outbreak. We are providing clean water and sanitation and training communities in good hygiene practices to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
Flooding in Mozambique
Around 95,000 people have been made homeless by flooding along the Zambezi valley in southern Mozambique.

Oxfam is supporting more than 150,000 people in the Democratic Republic of Congo who have fled ongoing conflict and violence.
Solomon Islands tsunami
An earthquake struck north-west of Honiara on Monday 2 April 2007 sparking a tsunami which affected Western Province communities. We distributed shelter repair kits and tents, built latrines, restored water supplies and ran health promotion activities.
Papua New Guinea cyclone
Cyclone Guba hit the coast of eastern Papua New Guinea in November 2007. We distributed health and hygiene materials, tarpaulins, water containers and other essential items, and supported local authorities in their emergency effort.
Bangladesh cyclone
On 15 November 2007 cyclone Sidr struck the southern coast of Bangladesh leaving about 4,000 people dead with 8.5 million people affected.
2004 Indian Ocean tsunami
A remarkable amount has been achieved in tsunami-hit countries since enormous waves smashed their way across the Indian Ocean on 26 December 2004. The millions of dollars donated by Australians and others around the world has made – and continues to make – a huge difference to the lives of affected communities.
