Young people in Australia have the capacity to play a significant role in influencing social, economic, political, and environmental events. Oxfam Australia recognises the enormous potential that young people present and is committed to finding ways in which they can be supported to become an active force for social change, equity and justice both in their community and globally. For this reason, we have kick stated the new Youth Engagement Program. In collaboration with young people, we plan to find ways in which young Australians can be engaged in a relevant way to actively participate in and contribute to the global community, bring about sustainable change and challenge the forces that impact those living in poverty. We have started the program by bringing together 14 young people from around Australia who we will collaborate with over the coming year. We will be coming up with some great projects and pathways to involvement. So stay tuned and keep an eye out!
