Launceston Mayor encourages Tasmanians to ‘Go Fair’

Launceston’s Mayor is calling on Tasmanians to Go Fair in 2013 by making the switch to fair trade products as part of Fair Trade Fortnight.

To help Tasmanians understand more about how buying fair trade benefits producers in developing countries, the mayor will be speaking at a World Fair Trade Day special event on Saturday 11 May at 12.00pm in the Launceston Mall.

Celebrity chef and Adelaide Lord Mayor to launch Fair Trade Fortnight

Celebrity chef Simon Bryant, from the ABC’s “The Cook and the Chef‟, will join Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood in the kitchen this week to help launch this year’s Fair Trade Fortnight. The event will be taking place at the Adelaide Central Markets, this Saturday 5 May 2012 between 11.00am and 1.00pm.
