Louise Perry, Media & External Relations Manager
Louise leads Oxfam’s media team here in Australia, based in Melbourne.
The team covers all areas of Oxfam’s work and seeks to inform the public about our overseas aid and development programs, our response to humanitarian disasters and our advocacy work on labour rights, indigenous rights, trade and the effect of climate change on developing countries.
Prior to working at Oxfam Louise worked as a Media Adviser to the Treasurer of Victoria and as a journalist at The Australian Newspaper.
Laurelle Keough, Advocacy and Campaigns Media Coordinator
Laurelle is Oxfam’s Advocacy and Campaigns Media Coordinator, based in Melbourne.
Laurelle handles media relating to Oxfam’s work on the Close The Gap Campaign, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Program, climate change, food security and our GROW campaign, youth programs, development banks and our work on the operation of Australian mines overseas.
Prior to joining Oxfam, Laurelle was a media and marketing coordinator with Australian Red Cross, a publicist at ABC TV, and a publicist with Carlton TV in London. She has also been a print journalist in her home state of Queensland, as well as Media Manager at Griffith University.
Emma Whalan, International Programs and Emergencies Media Coordinator
Emma is Oxfam’s International Programs and Emergencies Media Coordinator based in Melbourne.
Emma leads the media relating to Oxfam’s response to emergencies, humanitarian crises and international program work, particularly those in South Africa, the Pacific, East Asia and South Asia.
Prior to working at Oxfam, Emma worked as a media advisor and marketing officer for the Australian Federal Police and also as a media advisor for the Commonwealth Department of Human Services.
