In Indonesia, women often experience violence, early marriage and limited job opportunities. The Indonesian Women in Leadership project is addressing gender inequality by reducing violence against women and girls, increasing women’s opportunity to earn an income, and promoting women’s leadership in politics and society. We are also working with men and boys, as well as traditional and religious leaders, to address harmful social norms, attitudes and behaviours that contribute to women’s marginalisation. This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program.

Disaster, coupled with the impacts of climate change, can have a significant impact on local livelihoods in Indonesia. The Indonesia Climate and Disaster Resilient Communities project is supporting vulnerable rural and urban communities to understand the risk that climate change and natural disasters present to their communities and is assisting them to manage and minimise those risks. The project is also increasing farmers’ use of climate-resilient sustainable agriculture and connects them with local government and the private sector to make sure there are markets for selling these goods. This project is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program.
