The Wylak Project

In the language of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, Wylak means Youth

An often unheard story is that of the growing national movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who have seized opportunities and drawn strength from each other, and their passion for change. Our work with young people aims to build on this positive change, widening networks and working across sectors to ensure that young people have their voices heard.

The Wylak Project works alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and organisations across Australia to make this vision a reality:

A Nation in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth are empowered through having their voices heard and knowing their rights. A network of self-determining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth exists and is growing in solidarity.”

Self Determination Action Grants
