What is happening in Nepal?
On 26 August, a major flash flood struck Nepal's Rasuwa District severely affecting Syapru Besi and Timure near the Tibet border.
Communications and physical access are limited, but early reports suggest entire villages have been washed away with significant damage to settlements, roads, bridges, market areas and critical infrastructure.
Right now, the loss of life is undetermined but it’s already clear that families need urgent support as they search for loved ones.
The situation is evolving rapidly, but Oxfam is working closely with local partners to assess our response. With your support, we can be ready to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene, cash assistance and essential items in the aftermath of disaster.
