Eat Local Feed Global with us this World Food Day

Campaigning for change article written on the 06 Sep 2012

What’s for dinner tonight?

Tidak ada, nada, niente, Không có, nothing! Well, maybe not literally nothing, but certainly very little and probably not that nutritious. That’s what 1 in 7 people around the world can expect each day – very little. So they go to bed hungry. In anyone’s language that’s not right!

Join us around World Food Day to Eat Local Feed Global. You can either:

  • Help fundraise at a participating restaurant – book a table at an Eat Local Feed Global participating restaurant around Australia on Sunday 14 October and help raise funds for our work tackling hunger and poverty around the world. Can’t see the restaurant that you’re looking for? Then encourage them to register as a participating restaurant. We’ll be updating the list regularly so keep your eye out for your favourite venue.
  • Hold a DIY dinner or afternoon tea at your home, work, or in the community – give it your own focus – have fun, enjoy good company, raise awareness, talk about the things we can all do to help alleviate hunger, or raise funds to tackle hunger. There are lots of great resources to download to support your event.

We all love to share a meal with family and friends, be it at home, or in a restaurant. So do just that, but register first and join thousands of others this World Food Day and eat local to feed global.

People around the world are asking themselves why people still go hungry. After all, we produce more than enough food to feed everyone. Register your interest now and join thousands talking, sharing ideas, raising funds and taking action on this question.

Thanks for your support. Together we can ensure everyone has enough to eat, always.
