What you can do

There are many things that you can do right now to help prevent dangerous climate change.

Spread the word about climate change

Download our climate change petition and collect signatures within your community (and return completed petitions to us). You can also sign the petition online and take our latest climate change e-actions.

Land is Life is a series of powerful images and multimedia pieces that documents the impact that climate change is already having on communities from the Western Cape of South Africa and the small Pacific Island nations of Kiribati and Tuvalu. Some suggestion for how you can get involved:

  • Enquire about hosting a Land is Life climate change photographic exhibition in your community
  • Host a small event at your work, school, church or community centre and show the ‘Land is Life Pacific’ and ‘Land is Life South Africa’ short films

If you enjoyed the Land is Life series, check out our short films Sisters on the Planet and Faces of Climate Change which bring you first-hand accounts from community’s grappling with the impacts of climate change.

Get Smart on Climate Change

While some argue that it’s too expensive to tackle climate change, it’s the cost of inaction we really can’t afford. Check out Oxfam’s latest resource – Getting Smart on Climate Change – an easy to read booklet which sets out why action on climate change is the smart thing to do.

Become a UN Climate Tracker

Help to influence the UN climate change meetings from your computer. Become a UN Climate Tracker to receive regular updates from the meetings along with actions you can take. This way you can let our government and the governments of the world know that we’re watching them – and that we expect a strong binding agreement to reduce global greenhouse emissions.
