Changes to your regular donation

This year, you have helped support more than 2.7 million people in 32 countries to fight inequality and overcome poverty.

Thank you for your generous support of Oxfam Australia

In 2025, Oxfam Australia will be adjusting our payment schedule from monthly to four-weekly. We are making this important change to ensure we can continue our vital work supporting people and communities affected by an ever-increasing number of global crises every year.

What does this mean for you?

This change will mean that over the course of a year you will be making one extra donation, i.e. 13 donations rather than the current 12 donations annually.

Please contact our Supporter Services Team on 1800 088 110 or email regulargiving@oxfam.org.au if you have any questions about the new payment cycle.

FAQ

Why Oxfam?

With over 70 years of experience, Oxfam has been working with local partners and communities to provide immediate and long-term solutions that help people lift themselves out of poverty. From 2023-2024, Oxfam reached 3.3 million people across 37 countries all around the world, all make possible with the support of people like you.

Oxfam’s experience means we ensure communities are actively involved in the support we provide. We ensure communities survive today with safe, clean water, cash and food and prepare for tomorrow by getting water systems working again.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Regular donors will receive a consolidated tax receipt at the end of the Australian financial year (July). One off donations will receive their tax receipt via email immediately after their donation. For more information, head to our tax deductible donations page.

Why are you taking donations every four weeks and not every month?

We want to take donations every four weeks and not every month in response to the rising frequency and severity in global crises. This is an important change we’re making to ensure we can continue to support people and their communities.

Additionally, 90% of the Australian population are paid on Wednesday or Thursday. By making this adjustment, supporting Oxfam should be easier and better aligned with your own personal finances.

When will my donation be debited?

The first payment of the new cycle will occur on 3 January 2025. Subsequent debits will then take place every four weeks.

If you let us know you would not like to go ahead with this change, the debits will continue to take place once a month, on the 10th of each month (or next business day).

What do I need to do if I am happy with this change?

If you are happy with this change, you don’t need to do anything. The first payment of the new cycle will occur on 3 January 2025. Subsequent debits will then take place every four weeks.

Can I stay on a monthly schedule?

Yes, of course. Please reach out to our Supporter Services Team on 1800 088 110 or email regulargiving@oxfam.org.au if you would like to continue paying monthly.

Where does the money go?

Your donation goes wherever the need is greatest and will support a range of Oxfam programs around the world. For a detailed breakdown of where your donations are used, please see where the money goes.

How do I cancel or pause my donation?
